Privacy Policy
Pawspective is operated by Joshua Tan, a sole proprietor ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Pawspective iOS app and related services (the "Service"), and also our pre-launch website at launch.ephr.ai (see §14, "Pre-launch website & waitlist"). It explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. Questions: joshua@ephr.ai.
1. Data we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the Service:
- Account information — your email address and display name. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the name and relay email you choose to share.
- User ID — an internal account identifier we use to associate your content and activity with your account within our systems.
- Dog profiles — your dog's name, breed, date of birth, weight, sex, training goals, and an optional photo you upload.
- Training videos you submit — these videos include audio, and may include your face, your voice, and other people or surroundings captured in the recording.
- Messages and reports — the content of the follow-up chat between you and your trainer, and any content you report to us.
- Push notification tokens — an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token, so we can notify you when your report is ready.
- Purchase records — your subscription status and transaction history. Payments are processed by Apple; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
This data is linked to your account. We do not use it for tracking, and we do not sell it (see §5).
2. How we use your data
- To provide the core Service: a qualified human trainer reviews each video you submit and prepares a personalized report.
- To enable the follow-up chat between you and your trainer.
- To send you notifications about your submissions and reports.
- To process and manage your subscription.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
- Only if you opt in (see §6), to retain de-identified videos and analyses to train our staff and improve the quality of our reviews.
3. Human review
Every video you submit is reviewed by a human trainer at Pawspective. Our trainers are bound by confidentiality and may only access your content to provide the Service.
4. Third-party AI
We do not send your videos, audio, or other personal data to any third-party artificial-intelligence service. Your videos are processed only on our own infrastructure and reviewed by our human trainers.
5. Who we share data with (subprocessors)
We share data only with service providers that help us operate, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection terms:
- Apple — App Store, in-app purchases, Sign in with Apple, and push notifications (APNs).
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — secure hosting and storage of your data.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or use it for cross-app tracking.
6. Account deletion and your data
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. You choose what happens to your content:
- Delete everything (default). Your account and all associated content — videos, analyses, trainer annotations, messages, dog profiles, and reports — are permanently deleted from our database and storage. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke your Sign in with Apple token.
- Delete my account, but contribute my videos (optional). If you explicitly choose this at deletion time, we retain your videos and the associated analyses without your name, email, or account, to train our staff and improve our reviews. Because footage can show faces and other identifying details, re-identification from the footage may still be possible. You can request retraction at any time by emailing joshua@ephr.ai.
7. Data we must keep
Regardless of deletion, we retain purchase and billing records for 5 years, as required by Singapore tax and financial-record law. This is the only data we keep after a full-purge deletion, and it does not include your videos or messages.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access and deletion — request a copy of your data, or delete your account in-app (§6).
- Withdraw consent — you can change your data-use choices anytime in Settings (controls for using your content to improve the Service).
- Marketing — we do not send marketing based on your personal data without consent.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, restrict, or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a regulator. To exercise any right, contact joshua@ephr.ai or write to us at the address in §13.
Our legal bases for processing (GDPR) are: performance of our contract with you (providing the Service), your consent (optional content contribution), and our legitimate interests and legal obligations (security and record-keeping).
9. Data security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and storage on reputable infrastructure (AWS). No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact joshua@ephr.ai and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
We are based in Singapore and may process data there and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a revised effective date and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.

14. Pre-launch website & waitlist
This section covers our pre-launch website at launch.ephr.ai (the "Site") — the waitlist and dog-profile builder that preceded the Pawspective iOS app. It is kept here so earlier Site visitors and waitlist subscribers continue to know how their information is handled. The app-specific sections above (§1–§13) govern the iOS app.
14.1 Information we collect (Site)
We only collect what you choose to give us when joining the waitlist or building a dog profile on the Site. This may include:
- Contact details: your email address and your dog's Instagram handle.
- Dog profile information: your dog's name, breed, and age.
- Training video clips: short videos you upload, including any context notes and category labels you add to them.
- Technical information: collected automatically, such as your IP address and browser user-agent, recorded with your submission for security and abuse prevention.
14.2 How we use this information (Site)
- To add you to our launch waitlist and contact you when the app goes live.
- To build and show you your dog's profile from the clips you share.
- To send you a confirmation email and service updates related to the waitlist.
- To improve our product and understand how the Site is used.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security issues.
14.3 Storage (Site)
Your information is stored securely with reputable third-party cloud providers, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
14.4 Sharing and disclosure (Site)
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only with:
- Service providers who host and process data on our behalf.
- The Pawspective team who operate the waitlist.
- Authorities where required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
14.5 Email communications (Site)
When you join the waitlist we send a confirmation email and may send launch-related updates. You can opt out at any time by replying to any email or contacting us at hello@ephr.ai.
14.6 Your rights (Site)
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, including your uploaded clips, by emailing hello@ephr.ai. We will respond within a reasonable time.
The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
14.7 Cookies and tracking (Site)
The Site uses minimal browser storage needed to operate the waitlist flow. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
